Childbirth

We care for pregnant women, women in labor, and newborns. We support pregnancy planning when there are risk factors. We are client-centered and our care practices are baby-friendly.

We perform prenatal ultrasound screening examinations. The early screening is carried out at weeks 12–13 to determine the due date and the number of fetuses. It may also include measuring nuchal translucency and assessing the fetus’s main structures. The second screening is performed at weeks 19–21 to examine fetal structures and growth.

If necessary, we conduct additional examinations due to the mother’s pre-existing condition or pregnancy-related complications. Our goal is to ensure the well-being of both the mother and the fetus.

The most common reasons for admitting an expectant mother to the ward are preeclampsia, induction of labor, threatened preterm birth, multiple pregnancy, and other pregnancy-related conditions requiring monitoring.

In the delivery suite, we provide care for women in labor as well as emergency patients in maternity and gynecology services around the clock. We offer childbirth education classes twice a week.

These classes are organized in small groups and are primarily intended for first-time mothers and their support persons. The recommended time to attend is after approximately week 32 of pregnancy.

You can book a place in the childbirth class via the online appointment system (only the expectant mother registers). Please remember to cancel your appointment if you are unable to attend.

Our services also include a clinic specializing in the treatment of fear of childbirth.

At the breastfeeding clinic, mothers receive support tailored to their individual wishes and goals. You can book an appointment through the online scheduling service.
