Basic vaccination series for COVID-19

The Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare has updated its recommendation for the basic series of coronavirus vaccinations. The basic series is recommended for individuals who have not previously received coronavirus vaccinations. The recommended basic series for all individuals aged 18 years and older and those aged 12 years and older who belong to risk groups is one dose of the coronavirus vaccine. Two doses are recommended for severely immunocompromised persons. For those who have undergone a stem cell transplant, 2–3 doses are recommended based on individual consideration.

The BioNTech-Pfizer Comirnaty Omicron JN.1 variant-adapted vaccines are used as both booster and primary vaccines for coronavirus vaccinations. Coronavirus vaccinations are free of charge for the recipient.

Children aged 6 months to 11 years will receive the vaccine based on the treating physician's individual assessment. Please contact your healthcare provider.
